I created this painting from my own photographs of the many sunsets taken while going home through Skagit Valley. My daughter has lived in Bellingham since she moved to attend Western Washington University 15 years ago. In all those years there have been numerous trips, during different seasons of our lives through that beautiful Valley. It always captivates me with its dramatic colors and dramatic moods. Like with most of my pieces, I start adding multiple layers of acrylic paint washes and mixed media, (eg. Crackle Paste), to reach the final version I have visualized in my head!
